Built in the 1850’s, Merrylocks Cottage is a wonderful home away from home in the centre of Bowness on Windermere. Situated in a quiet terrace just a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of the village and the shore of Lake Windermere, you could not wish for a better location. With restaurants, cafes and bars close by, along with numerous tourist attractions and shops on your doorstep, you could not be better placed to enjoy all that Bowness has to offer. The cottage is in close proximity to popular walking routes such as Windermere Way, Claife Heights and Brant Fell, allowing you to experience the Lake District’s beauty from above.
With wooden and original Lakeland Slate floors throughout, this fabulous two bedroom cottage is perfect for a break in the Lakes and offers a real fire in the living room that ensures the traditional Bowness experience. The kitchen is excellently equipped and has everything required to make your stay a perfect one. The enclosed rear courtyard offers the ideal setting to enjoy your evening drink or perhaps a meal in the summer, in peace and away from the village centre.
The master bedroom is equipped with a double chest of draws, a King’s size bed and open wardrobe offering both incredible comfort and the space for your day and evening wear. The second bedroom consists of two small double beds with hotel-grade mattresses and another open wardrobe, again guaranteeing that you will not compromise on space. Coronavirus Information
The Management Team are now completely supplied with PPE, such as aprons, masks, gloves and shoe coverings, in preparation for changeover days.
Additional supplies of laundry bags have also been ordered to ensure that used and clean linens and towels are collected and stored separately.
Prior to each check-in, the cottage will receive a thorough clean, which includes sanitising all frequently touched items and surfaces, the removal of all tourist information leaflets and magazines, as well as the temporary removal of cushions and throws, board games and guide books.
From 4th July 2020, hand sanitiser will be provided to ensure that hygiene is maintained. Furthermore, notices are strategically placed throughout the cottage to inform you of what practices are in place.
The Management Team are also in possession of a second set of protectors for all mattresses and pillows so that these too can be refreshed with linens on each changeover.
